End of Year Final!!!!!!

Wow!! I can’t believe junior year is over. This year has definitely gone by the fastest out of my high-school career. Being in photo five has been a great learning experience for me. I love feeling as if I am the big bad photo expert in a class of underdogs. So, I decided to do my project on hats. I think that hats can do a lot to someone’s appearance. Wether it’s a good thing or bad. Hats can spice up anyone’s life and make a great project theme. I chose to do portraits for my final series because I feel it’s my strongest field. I got my inspiration from this site: ( http://www.portrait-photos.org/keywords/hat) The first photo is my favorite picture of all time. I tried to do my own version of it but it didn’t turn out like I hoped so I decided to scratch that idea. I enjoy the way that my pictures turned out and I’m excited to read your feedback. Rule of Thirds:

I think that this picture is a great example of rule of thirds. I think that the facial expression she has adds to the image and the way I edited it. I also like the way her hair is blowing in the wind because it also adds to the image.

Leading Lines:

I like the way this picture turned out. I love how their facial expressions are really cute and how they are all looking at the camera. Even though one of their faces is in focus, it makes it a true leading lines photo.

Natural Framing:

I chose this picture for natural framing because she is framed by the trees. I like the colors in the photo and how the whole picture is green.

Large Depth of Field:

This photo is one of my favorites throughout the series. I think it’s very genuine and classy. I love the contrast of the colors to the plain wall. With the whole photo in focus I think that it’s a great example of large depth of field.

Limited Depth of Field:

I really enjoy how this picture turned out. I love her facial expression and the way she is looking off to the side. I used an antique-ish colored preset for editing this picture. I think that the way I edited it adds to the overall image.

Balance:

This is also one of my favorites of the series. I think that it’s a great example of balance because of the equal sides of the photo. I love the colors of it and the sharpness.

Creative Viewpoint:

I think that this picture has a very simple feel to it. I took the picture from the top of a set of bleachers to give it the creative viewpoint that was needed. It turned out just how I wanted it to and I think that its a very classic portrait.

Simplicity:

I chose to do just a picture of a hat to make things simple. I also used a vintage editing preset to give it some creative colors. I like how sharp it is and also the shadow that is cast onto the rock.

My Choice:

I used this photo as one of “my choice” because I really liked it and it didn’t fit into any of the required categories. I love the color filter that I choice to use and I think that it really adds to the image. I think its very genuine and is a great portrait.

My Choice:

I saved this one for last because it’s very different compared to the others. It’s my favorite out of the series and it’s pretty sweet. I added some purple to the sky to make it even sweeter.

Business Portrait:

For this portrait, I used a back light to highlight her hair. I also used a soft lighting on the side so it wasn’t too harsh. I would definitely use this picture on a business card.

For this weeks post, I went back to portraits. I took pictures of my friend Kristina. Even though she’s not a junior, I thought that I might be able to use a few of the photos to “promote” my senior photos. I am already planning on taking a few of my friends pictures, so hopefully this will help me get more clients. We had a lot of fun taking these photos, even though the horses scared me, and it was a good learning experience. I got my inspiration from this site: http://www.portrait-photos.org/. Pitching Machine.

For this weeks post, I decided to do get some action photos.I went to one of my little brother’s pitching machine games for support. He was pretty excited to see me there so it was fun to cheer for him. He’s pretty much the all-star player of the team so it wasn’t too hard to get some action pictures. I decided to not do any editing to the photos to leave them more natural. I’m glad I got the time to go and support him. It was very fun watching all of the little kids running around the field. I got my inspiration from the spring sports season.

This past two days this week in class, we have been going outside and having “photo competitions”. With the sunny weather, it was a nice change for us.We went around the school taking pictures for half of the class, then we would come back and edit our favorite picture, put it up on our computer, and vote on them. The first two pictures are the ones that I chose from the shoots. I thought that they were both very interesting and they were my favorites. The rest of the photos are the ones that I also liked but didn’t chose for the final one. I thought that this project was a lot of fun and it really got the creative juices running.

Well for this week’s post, I decided to try something different. I wanted to get some drops “exploding” in action. I used a small cup of milk and a turkey baster to create the drops. In some of the photos, I used some food coloring to add some fun to them. This project turned out to be pretty difficult for me. I think that if I had the proper lighting for this project, they would have probably turned out better. But these three are the best of the photos that I got. I got one of each kind of drop which I thought was pretty cool. I think that I will work on this and try it again for a later post.

T-Shirt Design.

This week, instead of the usual photo project, I decided to try out some of my photoshop design skills. I’m not really the best at designing things, so it was a fun project to do. I made up a nice little club to design a shirt for. It’s not the best shirt design, but I think it’s pretty cute. I think that this shirt would be perfect for people at a flower store to wear. Make-Up Blog.

Since I have a missing post (project #4), I decided it’s about time to make it up for some credit. These are pictures that I took of all the flowers that are around my house. We have about a vase of flowers per table for the Easter holiday, which makes a great photo opportunity for me. Once again, I used my macro lens adapter so that I could get really close to the flowers. I really like using it because it makes my pictures different. Not many people can get close enough to a flower to see the inside of it, which is really neat. I edited them so that they are bright and happy. I really like the way that they turned out and I’m pretty excited about them.

This project was a class chosen project that was intended to help the community. The final pictures would be sent to the city’s important people to keep in their records for when the landscape changes. If they ever need resources to see how the city used to look, they can go look at the pictures that we sent to them. This project isn’t my favorite to do, but it’s just something that needs to be done. I took my pictures of I-90. I thought that no one else would’ve thought to do it and since it is always changing, it would’ve been a good idea. It was pretty hard for me to take the pictures since I was driving at the same time, but I managed to not crash.

So, I know Mr. Twitchell wanted me to take different pictures and branch out of portraits, but I had a great opportunity for a photo shoot on a nice day so I took a few. I used light room for the editing so I got to mess around with colors and textures. We had a lot of fun taking the pictures and I think they turned out pretty nicely. Spring Time!

The bad weather is finally going away and the sun is starting to come out. Soon all the flowers will be blooming, but for now there are only a few. I thought it was time to switch up my projects from all portraits. So for this week’s project, I took some pictures of the blooming flowers in my front yard. I used my macro lens adapter so that I could get some nice close-up shots of the flowers. I’m glad that I took the photos on a day that the sun was shining because it made the colors brighter. I’m happy with the way the pictures turned out and I’m excited to take some more as the flowers bloom.

This is a picture that I took in San Diego but I thought that it fit well with the project.
